I doubt I'd slap him. I very much think I'd sit back and marvel. He's just so brilliant and so lovely. You'd need to sort of try to wrap your head around it, I think! <sigh> Just to be around someone like him would be like a mental vacation from real life.

He'd get exasperating when he was being insulting, whether witting or unwitting though! You'd just want to either hide, or throw on the brakes. I love how John handles it! Such grace!
